Optimizing Daikin’s New Offices.
In under two months, our team transformed Daikin’s offices and supported their business goals through strategic and innovative design. State-of-the-art technologies combined with sustainable materials, brainstorming booths, meeting points, rooms and offices, interact to produce a modern and clean workplace that communicates all that Daikin stands for.
Daikin Hellas — the Greek subsidiary of the world’s leading HVAC-R manufacturer — needed to renovate their main Athens headquarters to accommodate extra personnel and future company expansion, while maintaining all health and safety standards. The project built on years of prior collaboration: STIRIXIS had delivered Daikin’s “Blue Dealer +” retail concept across stores in Greece since 2017, which gave the client the confidence to entrust STIRIXIS with their workplace too. The challenge was to deliver modern, high-functioning offices on a tight timeline — under two months — and within budget, including over the Christmas vacation period, with no disruption to operations.
STIRIXIS took a holistic approach, seamlessly integrating all architectural, mechanical, and electrical aspects with strong environmental graphics. The office was completely remoulded to expand upon Daikin’s distinctive blue palette into a richer, more diverse range while staying true to brand identity. Open brainstorming booths, meeting points, and meeting rooms replaced enclosed spaces, preserving the administrative office and call centre as needed. Sound-absorbing surfaces and intelligent hanging LED panels enhance the working environment, while Signify’s Trulifi technology provides fast, reliable, and secure wireless connectivity via light. Environmental graphics showcase Daikin’s values without cluttering the architectural design, supporting wayfinding, signage, and the privacy of closed offices and meeting rooms. Employee voices were literally embedded into the space — their answers to “what Daikin means to them” were printed on the walls, creating an inspiring rather than clinical atmosphere.
The offices were delivered on time and on budget in January 2021 — in under two months, including the Christmas period — with no disruption to operations. The result exceeded Daikin’s expectations and was very much appreciated by their people. The project was recognised with the Standard Interior Design Award at the International Property Awards 2021–2022. The long-standing collaboration with STIRIXIS was further confirmed, with Daikin anticipating continued partnership on future projects.
