E-Distribuție Muntenia — part of the Enel Group’s Romanian operations and a leader in electricity distribution — faced the challenge of designing a post-pandemic headquarters that would genuinely entice employees back into the workspace. The company operates under Enel’s Open Power philosophy, prioritising agile methodology, digitalisation, and innovation. The brief required a space that would reinforce team resilience and create a natural environment for collaboration, cultural expression, and the formation of ideas. The design needed to translate E-Distribuție’s brand identity and values into an architectural and spatial language, making “Open energy” a lived daily experience rather than a tagline.
STIRIXIS listened closely to the client’s needs, explored their identity, and transformed E-Distribuție’s new headquarters in Bucharest into a hub where culture is strengthened, ideas are unlimited, and connections form effortlessly. The 7,000m² space delivers a harmonious blend of warmth, energy, and functionality: wooden floors and tailored carpet design bring a sense of homey comfort, while a bold colour palette energises employee mood, productivity, and creativity. Dedicated zones throughout the space support different work modes — sound-absorbing corners for private calls, collaborative areas for team brainstorming, and informal meeting points for spontaneous gatherings. A series of “Open energy” quotes — “Open energy to new technologies”, “Open energy to more people”, “Open energy to new partnerships” — were integrated as architectural elements across the space, serving as daily reminders of the company’s mission and values. Eco-friendly materials, sustainable lighting solutions, and energy-efficient concepts were embedded throughout in alignment with Enel’s sustainability commitments.
