Fun Parks Can Be Fun For Parents Too!

PLAYMOBIL Hellas has been operating in Greece since 1989. Due to the company’s growth, the increased visitor number, and other technical parameters, there was a need to relocate to new premises. The areas that were to be incorporated in the new facilities were the FunPark, FunStore, Coffee Area, Lechuza corner and open plan offices.

PLAYMOBIL Hellas needed to relocate to new premises and create a 2,000 m² destination that went far beyond a typical store. The design challenge was fundamentally about experience: how to create carefree play for children and a genuinely relaxing, worry-free environment for parents, while subtly promoting all PLAYMOBIL products to both audiences simultaneously. All spaces — the FunPark, FunStore, Coffee Area, Lechuza corner, and offices — had to work as one cohesive branded world, fully aligned with PLAYMOBIL’s identity. The project had to be delivered in under 60 days, in the midst of Greece’s Capital Controls crisis of July–August 2015.

STIRIXIS Group delivered Concept Strategy, Concept Design, and Concept Execution. The FunPark showroom — the heart of the space — was designed with themes that were exact replicas of the most famous PLAYMOBIL toys, immersing children in a fully branded play world. The FunStore, placed within the FunPark, exclusively sells PLAYMOBIL products, while a single reception simultaneously serves visitors of both. The concept promotes a convenient visitor flow: carefree play for children, a relaxing Coffee Area and product discovery experience for parents and escorts. The Lechuza corner and open-plan offices complete the mixed-use layout. Through a holistic approach and close collaboration with all parties involved from the client’s side and the construction team, a unique PLAYMOBIL experience was designed and delivered for visitors and employees alike.

The final design of the 2,000 m² area boosted the client’s market position and generated a new wave of enthused and loyal customers, maximising PLAYMOBIL’s return on investment. The project was delivered within the 60-day deadline despite the extraordinary economic circumstances. It was recognised as Highly Commended for Mixed-Use Interior Design at the European Property Awards 2016–2017, in association with The Telegraph.
